You'll be fine.......honest, deep breaths and we'll all be thinking of you
My checklist, what to take to court :-
- Your two copies of 6.27 and 6.28 and the Originals, do not sign them, you do this in front of the clerk. Your completed EX160 if applicable and any benefit letters/forms etc as proof (Important - letters have to be dated within one month of your court date and no later).
- Money for bankruptcy fees.
- Spare change for coffee machine.
- Paper or magazine to read while waiting.
- Change for car park.
- Optional a friend to chat to/hold hand.
NB Do ring the BR Clerk at your court as to what they require from you, as it does differ from court to court.

Just got back from court...now officially bankrupt. Had been waiting for my IVA termination certificate as was in court 6 weeks ago to go through with this.
To be honest I feel rubbish. Sad, flat, surreal....above all a sense that I have worked by backside off for the last 13 years running my own business (and worked damn hard in my career since the last 80s) and I have arrived at being a Bankrupt today. Nothing to show for all my endeavours.
I know I will feel better once the OR interview has been done and there is clarity on what my IPA might be (nothing I hope) but right now I feel totally rubbish and a failure.
The good people on this board have kept me going over the past few months and it is good to know you're not alone and I look forward to being able to look ahead again.0 -
I know your feeling about being flat an deflated. I worked long hours for good money for 14 years, only to loose it all, lose the house, car, all assets and now got my BR hearing on Tuesday.
Can only hope this can be a fresh start and learn a lot of lessons.BR - 27/05/2014 - Divorced Father of 2 Amazing Children, Step Father to Another 2 Amazing Children and Fiancee to an Amazing Lady0 -

Hiya TP1, I'm so know how you are feeling and honestly the relief will set in soon, please don't beat yourself up. Let us know how the OR interview goes too.
Here's to your new start

hi,
I am now declared BR as of 21st may 2014 . I still have to do second interview with OR as they didn't receive my SOA from the court so only had a quick chat with her on Wednesday a few hours after court on the phone. I work part time and am single with 3 children so all my income is eaten up with all my outgoings. Worrying a bit incase they see my SOA as not acceptable and i will end up paying a big amount of ipa pcm.0 -

Hi emas8r and welcome to May’s BR Club, I’ve added you to post one.
Don’t worry about an IPA, sounds like you won’t get one but remember it is an agreement with the OR so you can always challenge it.
Your phone call with the OR is just for the OR to get a feel why you went BR. Before the call just look through your 6.28/SOA so your familiar with what you have said. The OR will just go through your 6.28/SOA with you. Also before the call have a big mug of tea ready or a bottle of water, and while they are writing things down you can have sips of tea/water, so you don't feel you have to fill in the pauses. And if you don’t know the answer to a question just say so. Do have a list with all questions ‘you’ want to ask. Can last anything from half an hour to an hour and a half.
Here’s to your new start

hi, thank you , I Dont have any questions for the OR only if i have an IPA. I got a 12 o'clock ring back from the OR, i had about 45 minutes in mind for the interview so will be ready with my cup of tea. I have listed as much info as possible on the SOA. The only thing i am unsure of iss dates on all the debts. Its a hard long run up to the whole bankruptcy but hopefully it will get a lot better from now. thank you this site is a very helpful .
No worries, most dates folks put down are guesstimates so the OR won't mind, have you seen this thread re the bullet points?

:staradmin Hi Everyone and Welcome to the May’s 2014 Bankruptcy Club :staradmin
This club is for everyone who has gone or going through the process of Bankruptcy during May 2014. So please feel free to join and post.
Pop your name on here, the date that you went/are going Bankrupt. Then just keep everyone in the club updated throughout the next year about your BR journey. That way you can all stick together, compare notes and be there to support each other during the different stages of your Bankruptcies.
Remember this is your board so keep posting :hello:
Obviously anyone can come on here and post anything that will help and you are all welcome. Any important questions that need answering please still post them on the main board, as you will receive more advice and help.
~ Please do not include too much information as the IS (Insolvency Service) are known to frequent this forum and they may identify individual cases, so username and date only, thank you ~
Best wishes
