EDF final bill

Has anyone recent experience of a closing bill from EDF?? Do they split the existing account credit and calculate the final bills for electricity and gas seperately? I'm interested because a previous supplier (Scottish Power) did with the result that I was in credit for one and debit for the other-and they insisted that I paid the account in debit, then took ~ 6 weeks to give me my credit back on the other!!!!:(
My own calculations suggest that I will owe on the gas portion but have a credit on the leccy at the switching date based on their originally supplied DD data.

Well as my gas and electricity will be switched on separate dates, I can't think how they can calculate the final bills otherwise.
What happens if the customer has only applied to switch their gas?
I'm sure if the split results in one bill being in credit and the other in debit, EDF will transfer such credit on request ... as I'm sure SP would have too if asked.0 -
Nope -SP refused -they insisted that the two were dealt with separately @ closure EVEN THO' I had always had a single bill and a single joint DD.
When I left EON 3 years ago,a single bill was produced -and a single refund was made.
@Biscuit Tin -doesn't matter if the actual changeover days are different, they can still produce a single bill -what I'm concerned about is having to pay ~ £80 for the gas underpayment when I'm £60 overpaid on the leccy portion.I'll wait for someone who has actually had a closing bill from EDF to comment.:)0 -

Oh dear, no futher replies. I wonder why? :rotfl:
You could have called EDF in the meantime and asked. If you explain the situation as you have done here, they will probably make sure you get billed separately and make all/any credit only on the latter bill and force you to pay the first one, via debt collectors, if necessary, who will add a handsome fee to the bill too.
