What is acceptable for wear and tear in a passport?

Not planning to abroad and it runs out in summer anyway.
What the issue is, is that a few months after I got it I put it in washine machine and since then just worried about it as there was a time last year when I thought I may go abroad.
It's all intact and the page with the lamination is intact its just the pages look a tiny bit frayed but not damaged in any real way just the paper is curved/bent a little the cover and all legal parts are fine.
Would this be accepted on the tiny chance I want to use it?

Hi There,
My husbands went through the machine a few years ago and he has had no problems using it. Oz, China, USA, Europe, Egypt. We were a bit worried about USA but they just smiled and said 'Been through the washing machine' :rotfl:0 -
As long as the machines can read it, (and it doesn't need to be held together with two hands), you should be fine.
An equine courier business I know (think nanny for horses being shipped) recently had a "show us your passport photo" competition & one document had clearly been mistaken as a snack. They all still read, despite being chewed, bent, creased, shoved down boots etc. The staff still handkered after the good old "solid" blue passport, but the simplicity of scan & stroll was appreciated.
Hope you get a chance to test it!0 -
Mine was soaked (and I mean soaked) in the Faeroes... ink has run, several pages stuck together, lamination starting to come away slightly.. no probs at any UK airport, or at Madrid, Berlin, Budapest...0

Would always recommend to replace a washed passport. Seen too many refusals at the airport. The new passports don't wash well - the data on the photo page disappears and the page turns green.0

If it's nearly run out anyway I would renew it as a lot of countries expect more than 6 months date left on it.
