Want to find e commerce software

Hi, I am currently using serif webplus X7 software for building websites and an starting to build e commerce webshops. The serif software is HTML5 and the new features are great for websites but the e commerce elements are driving me crazy!!

I need to upload CSV files that will pull in images from URLs and webplus can do this but it is painfully slow. Also the layout of the items on the page is hard to read unless they are large so max 4 items per page. I need to upload around 1000ish item details

Does anyone know of any software that can be bought where you are not tied in with the hosting or have to pay a monthly subscription where e-commerce can be done more easily than serif. I have looked at the likes of opencart/magento and bluehost but the reviews on these are poor to say the least and the support reviews are well frankly pants.

If anyone could suggest any alternatives I would be grateful as its difficult to know which to buy so feedback from you guys would be appreciated.

For E-commerce solutions its best to rely on hosting your own server side software such as Opencart, Zencart, Virtuemart etc

They all have their plus and minus points, but is entirely reliant on what you want your shop to do. I use Opencart and I love it, as its the easiest to setup and modify to my own ends.

Running a setup like this depending on your level of experience can be frustrating, and some people rely on subscription based services where they don't host anything and set the shop up through a 3rd party. Although it can work and takes the pain out of setting it up, it takes away a lot of the control you might want.

The Serif software can still be used for editing parts of your site to make it look and function how you want it.

    Work backwards.
If you're accepting credit cards independently of Paypal, what you're looking for is:
    1. What payment processing systems work with bank your using.
For example, Paymentsense, a UK based payment processing system, which some banks use, works with a limited number of shopping carts.
