You're miffed because you had to pay for the repair to their car caused by someone stealing a laptop that you left in plain view?0 -
If it'd been your own car, would you expect to pay for the window? Yes, of course.
So why would it be a different situation just because it's not your car, but somebody else's?
Particularly when, let's be honest, the theft was caused by contributory muppetry in leaving a valuable object on view.0
