    The bill came to £280. Still slightly miffed that I have not only had a £300 laptop stolen, but have been landed with an unexpected bill but hey..thats life, and as some of you pointed out. It could have been worse.

    You're miffed because you had to pay for the repair to their car caused by someone stealing a laptop that you left in plain view?

    If it'd been your own car, would you expect to pay for the window? Yes, of course.
    So why would it be a different situation just because it's not your car, but somebody else's?

    Particularly when, let's be honest, the theft was caused by contributory muppetry in leaving a valuable object on view.
