As ever, the definitive answer (£1500) has to be regarded as the one in the Ts & Cs: http://www.lloydsbank.com/assets/media/pdfs/current-accounts/clublloyds_terms%20and%20conditions.pdf

Yes 1.5K for Club Lloyds as posts above :)

Thanks peeps - the thread title refers to vantage rather than club Lloyds and I got confused between the vantage rules and the new club rules!
  • To receive interest on your Club Lloyds account all you need to do is pay out 2 Direct Debits per monthly billing period.

The £1500 credit per month stipulation is to waive the £5 monthly account fee.

Vantage accounts will need funded with £1000 per month and pay out 2 Direct Debits in order to earn interest.

There will be a lot of £15k's leaving Lloyds in July.

Which they are probably thinking "Good riddance", after paying 3% on funds that people can remove at any time.

... and the feeling towards Lloyds from me is mutual. I've been waiting for an excuse to leave them for a few years because of their woeful customer service... which continues tio this day with their total screw ups of our recent Club Lloyds A/cs applications. I've only stayed with them with certain accounts this long purely to milk their rates!

I think its quite likely it will, TSB did introduce the Classic Plus account, so I'm guessing only a matter of time until the 3% drops and more hurdles are added.

Blinkin' 'eck - have they dropped it already? It was 5% when they launched this just 4 weeks ago.

Promises 1 & 4 (of 5) of why they were different to other banks didn't last long did they?

The 5% on Classic Plus isn't dropping. The 3% on the old Classic Enhance isn't either for that matter (yet).

...Unless of course they decide to start charging a fee for not funding them, then I'll just close them.

I guess the writing is already on the wall about that what with their £5 p.m. charge for those not funding their new club account with at least £1.5k p.m.

I take it you were posting this tongue-in-cheek?

but who would pay anything for an account that pays 1.5%? Nobody on MSE, surely. So they can charge away to their heart's content but they would make literally no money from it. Instead, they'd just become the laughing stock of banks. Mind you, bankers have done very stupid things before. And banks' customers have done even more stupid things before, too.
