Putting a tumble dryer on top of a w/machine - Safe?

I'm moving house in a few days, and I need to get a washing machine and tumble dryer. I've seen people putting a tumble dryer on top of a washing machine to save space. They will both go in a utility room.

Is this completely safe? What type of dryer would you need? A condensing or vented tumble dryer?

I'd really appreciate any advice.

Completely safe if the w/m is balanced properly. There's a fixing kit available in Argos I think, it's a frame that sits on the w/m and the t/d fits inside.
Your choice as to whether you get a condenser or a vented, depends on so many things, but a condenser gives you flexibility and you don't need to pay someone to bash a hole in the wall.

Perfectly safe if your w/m is balanced properly. I think Argos sell a frame that goes between the two. Either type of dryer will do, depends on personal choice, but condensing type gives you flexibility.

MSE saying it didn't post my first message grrrrrrrrr.

I did it for years with just a piece of plywood between the two.
