    Age isn't as important as mileage where a head is concerned. Whats the numbers on the clock OP?

    it is quite common for the head to go on these cars. The price you have been quoted by citroen is ridiculous!

    You do not need to buy a brand new head, you could take your car to a local garage to do the work and get your head reconditioned or buy a reconditioned head. Depending on where you are (i'm up north) this should only cost about £1000 for a recon head and the labour!
