Hi
I am new to getting a full time job.. been studying right up till now.. i'm a recent university graduate. Been applying for jobs around £15,000 per annum customer service or social media in Leeds.. is that a good wage? Will be looking to rent around 475 per month.
Need a bit of advice

How many hour a week? Minimum wage for 40 hours per week is around £13,000 per year, so it's a little over that.
For a first job, not using your degree, in a (relatively) unskilled position it doesn't seem bad, but it's not going to be enough in the longer term if you want to have nice holidays, buy a house, run a car, etc.
You should be coming out with about £1,100 per month, after tax and N.I.0 -
thanks.. will be my first proper full time job.. its 35 hours a week .. don't have a car so thats no problem and just want to rent for the while

First Direct are in Leeds and a good employer. You could get a job working for them (not necessarily in their call centre) and be on £18k within a couple of years plus bonus and overtime. Good promotion opportunities too.
What did you do your degree in?
Another possibility is McDonald's.
Seriously - if you can get a McD franchise you could be earning serious money, but there's a lot of competition in that area. If you're hard working and determined enough though, very lucrative.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -
not my thing at alll- MCDonalds.. did Media so i'm also looking at jobs in social media, updating blogs that sort of thing. but could do a customer service role cos i have the skills required.. Direct Line's process to apply looks hard.

Start your own business managing social media for small firms? If you got 10 clients you might be able to earn a reasonable crust0

While it's not a big issue on here, I hope you are more careful when reading job adverts and completing applications.scaredofdebt wrote: »First Direct are in Leeds and a good employer.
