American Express Travel Insurance - any good?

Does anyone have experience with American Express travel insurance?
Have always taken single trip cover (with Direct Travel) but as my wife and I have two holidays this year I am looking at annual cover and due to having a AMEX card the policy is cheaper than Direct Travel with slightly better cover.
£51 with AMEX (Annual Select) vs £69 with Direct Travel (Standard)

Cheers,
James

I hope its OK as I chose American Express this year for annual family cover. I got good cash back too but TCB currently do £12.62 back on annual Select policy making it very cheap.

It looks simple but during the application process if you have ever had any sort of medical issue ever it gets more complex as it wants to know everything, this is a policy for the super healthy!

The only insurers that dont are those that simply dont cover any pre-existing conditions and so arguably they are the ones for the super healthy and these are the ones that arent as you have the option of coverage on some pre-existing conditions
  • I had read some mixed reviews but to be honest, nearly all the companies I have looked at had mixed reviews. Its hard to judge without knowing the full story of each review.
I think quidco are £12.50 at the moment bringing it lower than £40 which I'm more than happy with. Not as good as TCB but Im already setup with quidco.
Il make the plunge and purchase it.
    Thanks everyone!
