hi my partner has just been terminated from work due to medical grounds(all done properly etc etc)..he received a letter from his work saying he will ''receive a payment in lieu of his contractual notice period of one month''...he was previously receiving SSP from his employer until it run out....will his payment in lieu of notice be a standard months wage or paid as SSP amounts?
many thanks in advance

As well as Pay In Lieu of Notice (PILON) at his contractual basic rate of pay, he should also receive payment for any holiday not taken but accrued up to the date of termination.
Has he already worked for this employer for five or more years? If he has, his notice will be as long in weeks as his length of service in completed years (up to a maximum of 12 weeks).0
