  • You'd lose the working tax credit and still receive the child tax credit.

Why is your wage only £120? £6.31 x 22 is £138 and you wouldn't pay any tax/NI on that. Do you pay into a works pension?

I have a deduction for a pension and a cycle to work scheme.

I currently get 63 child and 62 working and come out with around 120 wage. I don't get full housing benefit or council tax. I have to pay 68 towards housing and 21 council tax. My older daughter works who lives with us which is why I don't get full housing/council tax. Which element of tax credits will I lose because of my cut in hours.i appreciate you saying find another job to top up my hours. Easier said than done.

So with reduced hours you will lose £62 WTC (CTC would remain same)
With no job you will lose £62+£120 = £182 and, if not sanctioned, would receive £113 so would lose £69

Has your partner looked at PIP?

Also if you give housing your revised income it is likely that your HB could increase. Is your older daughter covering the non-dependent deductions?
