self assesment - hold up.. is it security check

That just includes limited companies who have a separate system for CIS, worriedmummy. For "normal" subbies I am breathing a sigh of relief as all 3 of mine got their money this week.

It's important to realise that one of the main sources of delay here is inadequate returns from the contractor i.e. stuff which is totally outwith the control of the sub-contractor. This is a disgraceful practice, one that HMRC have agreed to put a stop to as part of their "Working together" party with accountants. The disgraceful way HMRC have treated the CIS sector was one of the top items raised by the accountancy sector in this process.

We have secured promises. But as regular readers of my posts will know, I put very little faith in the integrity of HMRC personnel to carry out anything they promise.

Mine has changed to 'Repayment Pending' when I checked earlier this morning. Hopefully it may get paid soon. Last year it only took a couple of days to receive the money once I got this message. Fingers crossed!

HMRC are utterly useless. I remember it only taking a week each year before 2011.

So are the security checks when it says 'not yet used' rather than 'pending'?
I did my husbands on 14th and it's saying pending, but I've only been checking last few days, so not sure how long it's said that.

Hi, not yet - it is still showing 'repayment pending' but the information is as of Friday the 25th. I will check again in the morning as it will update from today. I have a feeling its going to get stuck for a while.
Last year it was only pending for 3 working days then issued. Fingers crossed it may go through this week. Will keep you posted.

Hi morgan8080, I've checked this morning and message is now saying 'repayment issued 29th April 2014' so it should be in the bank tomorrow.

Fingers crossed that you get good news soon. Keep me posted.

My accountant does my return online.
Is it possible for me to also register with Hmrc as well as him ?
I'm waiting for a tax return which has been sent for security checks !!!
Thought if I registered I could keep up to date with what's happening for myself ?

I may be wrong but I'm sure that we used to log in when we used an accountant also. It wouldn't hurt to try.
