Parking Eye South Mimms

hi,
any advice would be welcome to decide if i pay the fine, appeal or igonore it.
so i received a parking fine from parking eye for staying in the south mimms car park for 6 hours. obviously i now discover you can only park there for 2 hours as i didn't notice any of the signs and didn't think that a massive car park would have any time limit. It was on a sunday and i was playing golf with a mate so we decided to meet there and only one of us drive to the golf club.
to complicate matters i have moved address and haven't updated my driving licence so the parking fine was issued on the 16/03 and i only recieved it last week so the amount has gone up from £60 to £100. and it was supposed to be paid 17/04 at the higher amount...
so i'm not sure whether to write them a letter contesting the fine after reading several of the posts where people have done this, send them a letter informing them that i have moved and inclose a cheque for £60 saying that i'm prepared to pay that amount and if they bank the cheque i consider the matter closed. or just ignore them as i've moved so they won't be able to find me anyway but the only concern i have is that they continue to write to me at my old address, i don't recieve any of the letters and then when i try to remortgage my property in a few years i have a ccj....
if anyone could shed any light or give me an informed opinion it would be much apprecaited.
and i would just like to add that companies like parking eye are a bunch or wan8ers and i wish that i could give them a piece of my mind face to face.
cheers

Pleas read the "newbies" thread and it's not a FINE!What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
-
also, your driving license has nothing to do with parking charge invoices
the V5C is the method by which they obtain keeper details, so that should have been updated with the DVLA , the driving license is irrelevant
they will also ignore you entreaties so dont bother , they just want as much money as possible out of your bank account
appeal and get a popla code, win at popla , pay nothing0 -
Parking Eye at Sth Mimms?
Oh goody, I can look forward to some double dip charges dropping through the door then0 -
i've read the newbies thread and don't know whether it's worth the hassle or not. for the amount of time and effort it will take i might just pay the £100. i just think it's disgusting that the dvla (i think it's them) sell this company our details.
but if i do decide to appeal what should i do first as the "invoice" according to them was due to be paid a week or so ago...0 -
just send the template letter in the NEWBIES thread0
-
should i give them my new address or use work or parents?
and should i send a letter from my tenant saying that i no longer live at that address? with a forwarding address?0 -
now you are complicating the issue too much with too many addresses
if they are using the address from the DVLA , obtained due to V5 details, you should continue to use that address because its the address they obtained from the DVLA
your appeal should be sent in within the 28 day timescale that is advocted by the BPA, but in any case you should always appeal because the fact is that the charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss, they have no contract allowing them to do what they do, and poor signage as well , never mind any other issues
you could try the alternative service listed on parking pranksters website (£16 , detailed in the newbies thread I believe, if they take it on and you dont want the hassle)
but if you are in the 28 day appeal window , then appeal it , even if its an online appeal using that template
my advice is do not muddy the waters with all these addresses , especially when they clearly got the RK address from the DVLA
you also complicated your thread by mentioning the driving license details, a totally separate issue and not relevant to a parking invoice
you also havent mentioned a complaint to the landowner either (the person who can issue court proceedings, nor have you mentioned searching the forum for similar threads to take that advice)
like this one https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/49065760 -
the reason i mention the addresses is because they wrote to my old flat which i now rent out as i've moved house and not updated my driving licence etc so if they continue to write there it's 50/50 whether i will receive it and not in a timely fashion so if i appeal it i think i should give a new address...
also because of the above i have only just received parking eyes letter and it is after 28 days...0 -
as its outside the 28 days its unlikely that you will get a popla code
best bet is get the landowner to cancel etc, or do a deal as per the thread I linked0
