  • I would recommend Banstead, but then I do have a place there. Great commute to Purley of approximately 10 minutes and a pleasant town with good amenities. Not pretty but not ugly either and the people are friendly enough. Anyway would be interested to hear if the OP made a move or is still waiting for the right property to come along?

Thread is two months old folks.
Yeah, but from the look of her, zagubov (who ressurected it) is a time-traveller!
  • I used to live in Guildford and the houses are beyond expensive. I lived there for 19 years and not once would have been able to afford a place of my own. A one bedroom flat to rent (at the time I left 4 years ago) was around £1000 a month in the town centre.

I know you're not renting but I'm just saying the prices are very high there. Or were when I left.

Guilford to Purley isn't the nicest of commutes (I've done it)

Banstead to Purley is lovely though -easy and pretty drive past the lovely park there -is it Oaks Park? Has a tea shop. Never quite understood why the park is there as it's already countrified. Nice golf club around the corner though. Another vote here for Banstead.....and Woodmanstone <sp?> might be worth a look too.

I wonder where the OP settled on-looks like Cheam was a contender and a good option. Grammar schools too.

  • Yeah I only realised it was 2 months old after I posted.

Would be interesting to hear the result.

Bear in mind that Purley is in Croydon , so more greater London than surrey.
