in Credit cards
Hi
I have always transferred any balances to 0% I have a nat west credit card with a 10k limit and owe only 1K which I always pay relatively quickly, I have never missed or been late with a payment. additionally I have been a nat west customer for 34 years with the same account and credit card. I owe 3k to Barclaycard and never missed or been late with a payment and now the 0% has ended I was advised by the nat west advisor to transfer to a nat west (no gimmick) as she referred to it. credit card for a fee of £24 per year, and no fee to transfer the 3k balance.
I was turned down due to the fact that I had been transferring balances and had too much available credit because the credit card companies keep upping my limit and I never even use them. Is this the result of transferring balances? I am now worried that my credit score will be affected in the future. and I only owe a small amount, unbelievable. would you advise that I call up the credit card companies and cancel the cards?

And what about limits? Your balances seem low enough, but if your limits are 20k plus, it could be an issue.0

as part of being a responsible lender the bank will of looked at all your out goings and then how much you have available on your cards.
E.g if you went bonkers and maxed out all of the cards how much would you owe.
100% cancel any cards that you do not need. It might also be worth talking to your bank and ask why they declined you.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
