Awaiting a quote for a new UPVC back door/window what features should i look for in the door/windows such as multipoint locking etc.

..... no help on the question, but can I suggest pricing up the door you want online and then getting a quote from a builder to fit it.
You may be surprised at the cost saving.

Ensure that the lock cannot be bumped or snapped (I am having the locks on my conservatory doors changed so that they can't be snapped after watching the BBC Watchdog programme):
