Parking eye help!

Hi everyone.

Need help - I received a pcn in march for staying 10 mins over in a free car park. Did not see signs so had no idea it was monitored by parking eye. I initially used this forum to appeal, obviously got a rejection letter. It was very long and had many examples of cases where they have won in similar cases. I decided to pay the fine as I am a worrier and also do not have time to be researching the fine detail for the popla appeal letter. On the rejection letter it stated the reduced charge will continue for 14 days from the date if letter (8th April) it is now the 21st so by my reckoning it should still be reduced. However logged on the parking eye to pay and it says balance £90 (full charge). I can't find a customer service number anywhere - the two numbers I could find are automated payment lines with no option to speak to a real person. I can't really afford the £45 nevermind £90. It pains me greatly to pay money to these scum bags but I'm honestly one of these people that would wake up at night worrying about it if I appealed again.

Sorry for the long post. Would really appreciate if someone has a customer service number.

Thanks!

You're making the mistake of thinking these people will be reasonable - they won't - all they are interested in is getting as much money from you as they can. Even if you get to speak to someone they will just tell you the £90 needs to paid.

So why not submit a POPLA appeal instead with the forum's help - these are won on an almost daily basis against Parking Eye and then you will pay nothing. The forum has a formidable record of POPLA wins.

Just take a few minutes to look at this this thread of POPLA successes - start at the last page and work backwards.

ParkingEye aren't even submitting any evidence against them and so the person appealing wins by default.

I won mine against them for a much longer overstay that 10 mins

Parking Eye are one of the most frequently dealt with companies on here.
There are even template appeals that will only need a bit of editing - couple of hours work max.

Even if you lost - which is highly highly highly unlikely it would still be £90

These guys don't do 'Service' - only money grabbing. They have no interest in talking to you.

They continue to exist chiefly because they frighten people into thinking they are some sort official organization and have a right to your money.

However they also prosper because some folks don't think they have the short amount of time needed to follow the guidance on here to write a letter to appeal their case to POPLA.

If you don't want to read the advice, I suggest you pay - it's much quicker and will take up less of your time.

But if you change your mind there are several folks on here who will be delighted to help you pay them nothing at all.

But you have to spend some time helping yourself. No-one is going to do it all for you.

If you have an hour or so spare - start here:

Dont pay Parking Eye they are scammers that prey on soft touches to fill up there grubby bank account.
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.

Do you think the above is by accident?

Why would a legitimate company make it so difficult to speak to someone?

Just think about it - I'll even offer to help you write your POPLA appeal - then you can post it up for comments by the other forum members so you can get the views of the very experienced and knowledgeable people here on it before you send it.

You can easily beat this by following the guides, however you must also stop it happening again.
Learn what parking eyes signs look like and any business that thinks it is a good idea to have this bunch scamming it's customers avoid and avoid like the plague.
Shop elsewhere and hopefully this will be your only brush with them.
    Be happy...;)

Thanks for the replies. I may as well attempt an appeal - should I start a new thread? I've already printed sample letters out, however I am dubious about the strength of my appeal - I don't have any receipts or any excuse as to why I overstayed! Oh well. May as well try!

Don't start a new thread. In fact, we don't even need to know the details.

Have a quick scan of the NEWBIES sticky thread and the flowchart and walkthrough therein.

You need a simple appeal to PE.

    They reject the appeal.

You submit one of our standard template appeals to POPLA.

You win and keep your money.

You come back and tell us.

    Job done.

That's the spirit and none of the above matters - it's the legal arguments of
    - no GPEOL - what have they lost by you overstaying your welcome by 10 mins in FREE car park - Nothing - Zilch - Nada
    - no authority - their contracts more often than not don't give them the legal right to pursue people through the courts
    - and non-compliant signage means there's often no contract with the driver
plus they use non-compliant ANPR equipment

So take a look at How to win at POPLA in post #3 of the NEWBIES thread - theres a strong appeal against P Eye as an example - throw everything at em one - use that as your start point - take out the references to the Original Poster it was written for.

Was this a store car park? If so replace Morrisons with the name of the store - if a retail park replace Morrisons with 'the retail outlets'
post it up and we'll help you refine it from there

Just copy the PE one in 'How to win at POPLA' in post #3 of the NEWBIES thread. You will win.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
