First one is. Roughly how long does it take for a survey to be done I'm going with barclays and was told information as been passed onto a surveyor. This was Thursday. Also had a letter saying that my solicitor as recieved contract from the other side( selling). Is this the proper contract I've got to sign or are these just details?

I would guess it depends on what kind of survey you are having done. Our 'drive by' valuation survey for the mortgage was done in about 6 working days.
As far as the contract is concerned, I'd ask your solicitor, it's their advice that you are paying for so make the most of it
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!
