I hope someone can help?

I want to start a blog, but for the moment want it to be completely private - it's really a repository for thoughts and pictures which, at some point in the future, I may wish to 'publish'.

I have opened a blog with 'Blogger' and in the settings have selected both "not listed on blogger" and "not visible to search engines".

I'm guessing therefore that unless someone puts in the exact blog address, that it won't be able to be viewed - or am I being naive and/or incorrect?

if you want to keep it private, then do not publish it,

Even if the address is private, google indexing, other companies indexing, web spiders and even page stat may be able to uncloak you.

Then there is server hacking.

One day their terms and conditions may change, get bought out or go broke, the data may become public?

I think you should be able to write blogs and just save them to drafts.

You can also set it so that readers have to be logged in and on the approved list. I know because that's how I've set the discussion blog for our local school governors.

We still wouldn't list individual children or teachers though.
