Hire vehicle

Looking to hire a vehicle but had a driving ban last year for totting up - 6 month ban. This ended end of November 2013.
No points. Was avoidable as some of the points were for failing to surrender documents which was due to the letters being hiddend by a malicious ex..anyway....
Is there anywhere where I can hire a vehicle for a couple of days at a time in light of this. I know most prefer there to be two years after a driving ban although this seams to be with drink driving bans.
Any advice would be helpful
