Bank account default removal- Help please

Hi,
I have incurred a default from HSBC on an overdraft facility.
To cut a long story short, I have had an ongoing dispute with them regarding bank charges, as if the amounts were built up by me over the last 5 years or so, then fair and square. They should be repaid.
I have incurred more than the disputed amount over the last 5 or 6 years in overdraft charges, but have incurred a default on my credit file.
Any advice on how to dispute this and try and get the default removed, I would say I am happy to settle quite quickly.
1. Can a bank remove a default if it is requested to?
2. If a default is made up of disputed charges is that fair?
3. Can debt collectors enforce this debt?
Any advice would be appreciated.:(:easter_os

The Bank won't remove a Default unless it was somehow caused by their own error. If you simply failed to pay the charges levied (regardless of how much you were charged) then how can you expect the Default to be removed?0
