Enfield Island Village - Would you live there?

I am looking at a house in Enfield Island Village - it's to the very south of the estate, which is mostly detached houses.
Does anybody live there, and if so, would you recommend it?
Thanks,
LFH

I moved away from Enfield about 5 years ago, and I was living more EN2 area, but the general reputation of anything down that way was not good at all.0

lived near there from 2006 to 2010 and never a problem. nice to get into countryside too without a long journey i.e naezing0

I have lived EN2 all my life and have always looked down my nose at that side of town for all the usual reasons.. However, last year I bought a property to renovate down near the Island Village and spent a few months doing work there. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was, and how friendly the majority of people were. Very 'cosmopolitan' though..
This type of decision is very personal, but remember, anywhere in London is a stones throw to beautiful areas and equally close to scumsville!0 -
Thanks everybody. Sounds like the area's bark may be worse than its bite. :-)0

Hi, could anybody shed some light on this tread about the area currently? I'm also thinking to buy a property in Enfield Island Village and would like to get a more current review. Thanks0

My son and his family live there and are very happy. There are huge open spaces with play areas for the children.
The Lea Valley Park, with all it's walks, wildlife, bridle paths, cycle ways etc. is right on their doorstep.
Everyone is friendly and there is a strong community spirit.
I love it; strangers actually smile and say "hello" to me when I visit.0 -
This website seems to suggest that all is not well with the running of the place:
