Hi there,
I am searching on Amazon for offline backup hard drives and then thought it might be worthwhile having an online backup too.
I wondered whether anyone could recommend any online/cloud backup services so that I can backup my aging XP Laptop bfore I force myself to use my Windows 8 machine?

I use Dropbox, for personal & business purposes. Also use it in 2 of the companies I work for. The free version is excellent.0

I use Dropbox too and am very happy with it, but everything sensitive is password protected.
SpiderOak supposedly is more secure, though ultimately if you don't securely password protect your data you're taking on trust someone else's word for it.
Questions to ask: how much data, how often will it change, how often will you need to access the backup, who will need access, how sensitive is it if it leaks, how important is it if you lose it?0 -
Thanks for the feedback. At the moment I'm thinking of storing family photos online so relations abroad can view them too, as well as some business stuff.
What is the basic capacity on Dropbox? I couldn't see this info on the site.0 -
Use something like Flickr for your photo's. You can store them, view them, share them easily.
Depending on how many pictures etc you have, a basic cloud account may not have enough space. Flickr gives you 1Tb of space for pictures.
You can then keep Dropbox or Onedrive for your documents.
You get 2Gb with Dropbox free. You can increase this with referrals or purchasing.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
