Energy Helpline - Scottish Power - Easter Offer - £80 of Love2shop vouchers
For those who may not be aware of it, Energy Helpline (exclusively) is running a nice little Easter bonus offer of £80 in Love2shop vouchers for those who switch to Scottish Power.
They’ve also an offer, running in parallel, called Huge Switch 4 (and not restricted to Scottish Power) under which you can claim an additional £35 cashback if you haven’t used Energy Helpline to switch since last September. To get that, you have to go here.
If you don’t qualify for the £35 offer because you’ve already used Energy Helpline for a switch since September 2013, you can get into its site via Top Cashback and qualify thereby for a £14 cashback instead.
You need to move fast to get these offers; they’re about to disappear.
If you need answers to questions about them quickly, it’s best to call Energy Helpline (free) on 0800 074 0745. It’s fully manned today (Easter Monday).

As a current scottish power customer, my advice would be to avoid them at all costs. Their customer service is appalling and it took me over 10 phone calls and letters to get my transposed meter readings corrected.
Cannot wait to leave them at the end of this month.0 -
My family in England used Scottish Power, dual fuel, on two successive fixes, from 2011 until the end of February this year, and they encountered no problems whatsoever.

The Huge Switch 4 cashback offer of £35 from Energy Helpline expired on Easter Monday, but one can still get a conventional cashback of £14 by going in through Quidco or Top Cashback.
The good news is that the £80 offer of Love2shop vouchers from Scottish Power through Energy Helpline is still running today (Wednesday). :money:
The Terms & Conditions of it state that the offer is valid “to 24 April” so hopefully that will include tomorrow (Thursday) as well.
The underlying tariff from Scottish Power is in any case an excellent one with no early termination penalties. For my family’s consumption it comes out fourth on the comparison chart, behind Extra Energy, Ovo (12 months) and First Utility – all of which do levy an early termination penalty.
The best part is that it’s fixed to 31 July 2015, so it bridges comfortably the next General Election, which is scheduled for 7 May 2015 and adds some extra leeway for a second election if the first one produces an inconclusive result (which is entirely possible). Yet, with no early termination penalties, it enables one to switch at any earlier date, without penalty, if circumstances render that propitious in the meantime.
After careful consideration, my family initiated a switch to it on Easter Sunday. Over the 15 months until it expires they will make a saving of about £275 if both the vouchers offer and the Top Cashback are honoured. Even without the vouchers and the cashback their saving will be about £180, so it was a win-or-win-bigger situation.
(Their exact savings, of course, will depend upon the weather next winter. If it’s a cold one, their saving will be even greater!)
So, check it out – it might suit you, as well. But do so quickly; it will be gone by Friday…
Anyway, I hope this can save you, too, some money.
