There have been threads on these forums and others over the years about a HPC, people want to pick up a house for a knock down price..."HOWEVER I AM AFRAID I HAVE SOME BAD NEWS" house prices won't be crashing and will remain strong for years to come.
Thank you very much

I think most of the crashers have now given up on the idea of bagging a cheap house on the back of repossessed hard working families.

Most of these people would never have bought anyway.
In Northern Ireland, the crash did happen. Those who expected a crash in 2007 proved to be correct.
However, those same people are still ranting and raving about a continuing fall despite the fact that prices fell over half from peak, renting is much more expensive than buying and property prices turned positive in Q1 2013.
For the first time since 2007, we have annual increases in prices - something those in the NI forum of the HPC board are calling a dead-cat-bounce.
I was lucky with my timing as I bought at the exact bottom - and happened to buy for below market value at the time.
A lot of people on the Northern Ireland board in HPC are now waiting. Their reasoning - prices dropped by over 50% from peak but rose 4% in 2013. They want to wait because they don't want to pay the £5,000 - £10,000 extra they have to pay now when compared to what they would have paid at the start of last year (despite renting costing them more money per month with no asset to show at the end of it).0 -
It's a sad place over on HPC ................. there are some angry people there, they know that they have wasted their lives and those of their families by forcing them to rent.Bringing Happiness where there is Gloom!0

Over on the forum hpc.co.uk they are talking about the new forum software that shows them how many warning points Bruce Banner has given them:

One person has 7. I think I got about 200 at once for suggesting he might be a nob, and also I mocked the Masked Tulip and denigrated Realist Bear.
Good times.0 -
I find those who talk up a rise or fall in prices equally tedious. Stability is what we should be wishing for not big rises and falls.0

I Havn't been on HPC for years, didn't Realist Bear eventually give in and buy a place ?
One the day HPCrashers are going to realise it will never happen. No doubt they will eventually head off the Jungle of Guyana in search of cheap housing. When reality kick in I suspect there might be a mass suicide.0 -
He bought somewhere in East Sussex. He wanted to buy in Brighton but eventually admitted that he couldn't afford to so got somewhere outside. He was to be fair, relatively open about the fact his HPC never happened, though was still claiming it was coming and therefore encouraging the HPC people to keep renting and waiting.
Considering how authoritatively he predicted a crash though its a bit tough on anyone who believed him, but then, over on the forum hpc.co.uk the posters who say what people want to hear are the ones who dont get banned, so maybe its not entirely his fault.0 -

Anyone who makes their financial decisions based upon what is said on an anonymous internet forum is going to eventually fail anyway.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
