Peter vardy mistake help please
Hi, I agreed to purchase a car on thursday from Peter Vardy. I signed something called a vehicle order form and put down a £100 deposit. The car is second hand and I am due to pick up today but have changed my mind! The vehicle has been serviced and taxed for me to pick up. Is there any way I can walk away from this dela? Help please. The car was going to be on hp but I have not signed any finance papers yet.

I guess it depends on the wording of the order form and whether you have a conscience or not. The service is neither here nor there, that would have to be done anyway but the dealership will be losing money on the tax.0

Yes you can walk away, but you'll lose your £100 deposit. The whole point of the deposit is a commitment to buy the car, and the dealer has held it for several days, meaning others couldn't buy it in that time.
It's a life lesson, but you can't just make a business deal and then expect to walk away. You could appeal to the salesman's good nature, but I can't see that being too successful.0 -
I don't loosing the £100 as long as I can avoid buying the car. I'm just worried they could hold me liable. I was planning to trade in my car against it so they may try to sue me.0

Why don't you want to buy the car?0

all they had to do was tax and service it0

all they had to do was tax and service it
Yeah all man hours.
Two days wages and the loss of a sale.
£150 per person
The cost of the tax
Service materials
Loss of the ramp while your car was on it
Cost of travel to get the disc
Another keeper on the vehicle
Lost customer who wanted to buy it on Saturday who's now gone else where
See how they can make it all add up?0 -
Give them a call and see what they say.
We can guess all we like here but it will be down to the garage.0
