Advertising Ideas

I'm in the process of setting up my own bag boutique business online and have been brainstorming ideas of where to advertise. I already have set up all the social media outlets in preparation including: facebook, twitter, pin interest, instagram and am working on a you-tube channel aswell. I'm wondering if there's anything else I can do which is relatively cost-free and also where I can distribute business cards for this type of business without being too much of a nuisance too people.

Who are your target audience? Define them closely, then you'll think of other places where to find them. For instance if it's single men aged 40-50 then you'll look somewhere different than if it's teenage goth girls.

See what local businesses were up to in June/July/August last year - and contact them, where appropriate, to see if they're doing any similar promos this year and offer to do some collaborative promotions.

e.g. if your bags are beach bags and a local beauty salon did did a "Spray Tan Special Offer" last July - see if they're doing it again and if they'd be interested in giving their customers a special Discount Voucher valid for July only as part of their promo package. Costs you nothing, their customers get a freebie and you get exposure ... all for the cost of printing out a voucher.
