SweatShop Online Warranty

Hi All,

If I was to purchase a Garmin GPS Watch and Heart rate monitor on Sweatshop's online site, would I be covered for 12 months if the product becomes faulty? Have read the Consumer Rights page, but it confuses me a bit!

Can't find anything on their website that says it has a warranty for longer than 30 days?

What would I legally be entitled to should the worst happen?

Thanks :)

What is making you think you should have a year? Do Garmin offer that?

In legal terms, it it fails within 6 months, then they must repair, replace or refund (their choice) unless they can prove misuse. After 6 months the consumer must show that the fault was inherent, aka there when purchased.

Anything above that is over the law and up to the retailer/ manufacturer.

The Sale of Goods Act allows you up to six years to seek a remedy from the seller.

A manufacturer's warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, and as such may have conditions attached.

All this is explained in MSE's Consumer Rights guide.

Is that the document you read?
If so, which bit confuses you?
