Late Return of A2 form for IS ..what will happen?

I've just had a knock at the door from a man I don't know with a letter addressed to me. He said he'd been on holiday and just seen that it was mine so thought he'd drop it off.
I opened it and its an A2 form for Income Support (I've only been on it since mid Feb) and states the date to be returned as 17th April ...which means I'm now late to return it. I can fill it in and post off tomorrow no problem but I'm now terrified they'll stop my payment on Thursday due to the form being late. I've got barely any food left in the house and have to pay the rent this week, if my money gets stopped I don't know what I'm going to do
If it's stopped does this mean permanently? If they reinstate it do I lose out on the weeks I miss completely or will it get backdated? (asking so I don't try borrowing off a friend with a false promise of paying it straight back as soon as I get my money etc)
Hope someone can help
