Good riddance. What value did property snake have? You can look at sold prices easily enough which tell you if houses have started selling for less. All it did was show the number of people who had a mistaken idea about their property's value, probably from watching too much Property Ladder, and marketed at a price probably above their agent's recommendation. It was a site designed (a) for mocking these people, and (b) for those nasty people on here and HPC who love laughing at others' financial difficulties. :mad:0

Would you like it if someone set up a site that could damage the image of what you are trying to sell using your own material?BettiePage wrote: »Any ideas for the site owner?

one of the very useful things about property snake was showing how long a house has been on the market with a particular agent. It was very much a tool for buyers, not for sellers, but never pretended to be anything else. It's a health benefit ...0

I'd have thought that property snake was free advertising for people who were dropping prices in order to sell. Some of them might have wanted a quick sale without going to the BMV sharks?
It's not like PS were trying to gain anything from any possible sales, and they linked through to RM and the EAs. Was it any different from Ononemap.co.uk?0 -
I prefer the conspiracy theory that Rightmove are trying to preserve HPI. However, I believe that it is simply that RM were not pleased that Property Snake were stealing their data.
I guess there'll be another snake along quite soon - perhaps based overseas.

Seems that way to me, if the price has been reduced it makes it seem better value - same way that if a meat pie is on at £1.99 in Sainsburys it won't sell as many as if they claim it was £3.99 half price to £1.99.0 -
Rightmove have refused to host details of houses sold through Tesco's so I guess they are carefully trying to preserve their elite branding.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Am I the only one here who actually thinks rightmove is a pile of pants compared to findaproperty?
No info on local transport, less floorplans and a more clunky search option.0 -

Are you kidding?? Rightmove conveniently showed my local rail stations AND allowed me to do searches based on distance from them (ie 1 mile walking distance of a station). Findaproperty doesnt even tell you what the local station IS let alone how far away it is.
Rightmove is blinkin' slow though.0 -

Sorry, but I hate findproperty, since it keeps giving me system errors (on different PC's) for reasons unknown. RM, works fine.In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0
