Slimport works on the 2013 Nexus, not the 2012 version.0

ChromeCast = £30
works just fine with you tube ( does require internet connection i.e. its not just a phone only solution)0 -

This review is from: Nexus 5/4/7 (2013) Slimport to HDMI adapter - Connect your Slimport phone or tablet to an HDMI TV, monitor, or projector (SP1003) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Works perfectly with all my Nexus devices, 4, 5 and 7 (2012). Purchased this last week, given it a good play since then, works perfectly. Only downfall is that you can't lock the screen while playing movies etc.
I looked in the reviews before posting0 -
EZ-Cast, Chromecast are ideal solutions to the problem.0

As above, Chromecast by far the best way to go, works with loads of other apps too.
Alternatively if you have a PS3 you can sync your tablet so that you can select the videos it plays via the tablet in a Chromecast-esc way.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Just a pointless question, has your TV got an HDMI in port? My TV doesn't , nor Freeview , but it does have colour and an on/off switch. Thanks all
I will go for the Chromecast. Sounds good and easy to use!
Yes my TV does have a HDMI port, thankfully ;-)0 -
Well if you're watching youtube on your device, then 'throw' it to the TV, you're using the same net connection, so it'll use the same bandwidth as whatever other device you were using.Does it need a 'decent' internet speed?0
