Will having the same name and address of my father affect my credit rating ?

I have the same name as my dad (apart from middle name) and we currently live at the same address. My Father has a bad credit rating , and recently i was turned down when trying to switch bank accounts.

I am just wondering , will our circumstances be a problem for me?

Depends whats on your file, check your file with all 3 ref agencies. The fact you 2 have both a different dob should differentiate the 2 of you.

It shouldn't. However a few people have reported confusion (i.e. carelessness) on the part of the CRAs. Best to keep a close eye on things.

I have ran a credit report and it appears that there are some associations with both of my parents , and even their previous addresses.

Will this be problem ?

I am Only 19 years old lad so i want to get this cleared up before it may become a hindrance.

If the financial associations and aliases are incorrect, you should raise notices of dispute with the credit reference agencies to have them removed.

You'll need to do this separately with all three credit reference agencies.

Does any actual account data belonging to your parents appear on your credit files?
