Will my CCJ remain on my credit report until I have paid it off?

I was issued with a CCJ in 2010.
I know it takes 6 years for it to be removed from your credit report, but I haven't paid it off.
So what I'm wondering is... is it removed after 6 years but ONLY once I have paid it off, or is it removed after 6 years period?
