That name is too generic to track down without further information. Which websites did you enter your information on? That's the best place to start. If you didn't enter your information anywhere contact your bank.0

A company called Smart Loans has taken £68.50 from my bank account, (i'm guessing its a broker fee) although I don't recall using a broker.
Can anyone help track this company down so I can request a refund?
Thanks!
These companies seem to rely on people forgetting where they've been. When/If you find the company, you need to follow the instructions exactly. This usually means writing, not texting, not e-mailing, not telephoning. I believe they are allowed to retain an "administration fee" of a fiver or so.Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Well, I entered 'Smart Loans' into Google, and guess what it came up with? A website called 'Smartloans.co.uk'."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

There are 2 relevant results when searching for "Smart Loans":
smartloans.co.uk, but it is not a broker, it's an affiliate, all they do is link to lenders and they do not take payment information so it can't be them.
smartloan.co.uk is a direct lender and not a broker, they do not take any upfront fee, so it can't be them.
If it is a company called "Smart Loan" it can't be any that show up via Google searches, 'cause none of them are brokers of Pay Day loans with fees of £68.50.0 -

Newcomer at 12.09AM on a Sunday points to someone who's had a night on the town and is tired and emotional. You don't suddenly find out that you've had £68 debited to your account at that time unless you've been out and found the cash machine won't give you any more money for the pub.
It really is amazing how many of these brokers are able to guess the bank card details of all these people who've never used a brokers website but have been seeking a loan.
Or maybe I'm just getting more cynical in my old age."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Cynical!. Surely not.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
To have the money debited you need to enter the card details.
In this case you have quite obviously tried to apply for a loan, probably through a broker and they have taken the fee for their services.
You cant have forgotten all these stages including entering you card details. So come clean and someone will help you see if the payment is legal or not.0 -
I too, yesterday, have had the same problem. I realise that I have been stupid, however, would like some help/advice from anyone else this has happened to so that I can arrange to cancel this membership fee and attempt to claim a refund. Thanks0

My problem lies in within these sites don't tell you they are a broker, I entered my details as I thought I was applying for a loan, to then be passed website to website. I then received upto 50 emails and texts per day from various companies and I deleted them all and cannot remember the name of the original company0
