Payment Protection on Credit Card

I was wondering if any would be able to offer some advice.
I applied for a Barcalycard when I was a student (2001). The only reason was due to a free offer of a popcorn maker at the the time of signing up. I intended never to use the card but being a student at the time maxed the £440 limit. I have not used the card since 2004 and have paid the minimum payment every month.
On my last statement I realised that my balance was £451!! The reason for this was the 'Payment Protection' that kept taking me over my limit. I orginally called Barclaycard in 2005 to cancel a card protection and payment protection because I did not see the point for such a small limit. However, thay only cancelled the Card protection.
I wrote a letter of complaint and all they have done is cancel the 'Payment Protection'!
Does anyone know whether I have any rights to claim back the monies for the payment protection. I believe they should have contacted mt to let me know it was 'their' payment protection that kept taking me over my limit. I havent used the card and have paid every month without fail.
I would be very grateful for some advice

:rotfl: :rotfl: Can't believe you fell for that one! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Seriously though, need more information on this payment protection/card protection.
Have you been paying it every month/year since 2001?
Did you sign up for payment protection/card protection and were they in the T&C's?
In which year did it take you over your limit?
Did you incur any penalty fees as a result? How much? They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0
