I am an electronics geek and have been watching such devices with interest. Harmonic interference is becoming a problem with the devices that use Phase Angle technology, check before you buy as it may cause problems in the future.

    Hi there,
I am familiar with electronics as well and devices like solarimmersion work on Pulse Width Modulation technology unlike Phase Angle technology. Phase angle controls use dimmers and modulate power by altering the on and off ratio. While PWM actually brings down the harmonics causing least affect on the AC curve.

One of the problems with PWM is that under some circumstances the pulsed nature of the load can cause variations in the mains voltage - particularly if you are at the end of a long spur wire. This can cause the lights to flicker (and your neighbours). This has been documented on some of the other forums.

The phase angle circuit I designed along with its filtering appears to cause very little in the way interference. In fact it causes no noticeable problems in any of the RF bands where I've been able to measure it. The phase angle module and its filter are sold as a pair by the manufacturers.

First two posts and they are both singing the praises of one particular brand?

Smells like chopped pork shoulder meat, with ham meat added, salt, water, modified potato starch as a binder, sugar, and sodium nitrite?
4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.
