Very account on credit file

My credit rating is bad ATM and I'm looking to fix it as I will need to get a bank loan soon, we have just finished paying off our very catalogue account. Does this look good on our file that we have a limit of £600 and owe nothing or would it look better if I got the account closed? Does it look bad that I have credit available

    Could go either way.

What is not good about your file?

Better to have it open and active with a £NIL balance than closed; assuming you don't have a litany of large credit limits elsewhere.

If you do, better to close it.
