I have a Woolwich mortgage and curious how you are able to view balance online ? I don't bank with Barclays at all, but remember something in my paperwork about a "reserve account" or similar.

I cant afford to overpay at moment having only bought this place a few months ago, but from reading some old threads, Woolwich/Barclays don't make it especially easy to overpay ?

Good luck with your MFW challenge ! :T

    Hello,
If you have a mortgage reserve account it is just a Barclays current account called that. So if you register for online banking then you can view the accounts.
For mortgage it shows balance, amount borrowed, remaining term and interest rate. You can't see transactions but the man said hopefully they will add that soon.
You can overpay from your mortgage reserve on the online banking or you can get your mortgage account and sort no and pay from other banks by so or one of transfers.
    Hope that helps!

Hi thanks for such speedy reply :)

I didn't really want to use the Barclays current account as I already have a Santander 123 current account which I am happy with.

AFAIK the Barclays account isn't active - I certainly havnt activated it ?? Do have a local Barclays branch so I shall pop in there and see what they say.

I suppose I could just call the Woolwich Freephone no if I want to check balance - its only been running for 8 months or so, wont have gone down much haha.

You got slightly lower rate than me, i'm on 3.99 5yr fix, but term only 17 yrs as im an old ish git :D
