I know this is not a parking issue, but the parallels to the DVLA doing this to our private data, and spawning the parking industry as it stands right now is shocking.
This surely cannot be allowed too happen, the fact that they are even considering this means how far out of reality this government and their civil servants are.

I've just read about that as well. I will be composing an email over the next few days to my MP and the minister responsible for HMRC ( which isn't as obvious as people think ! ). It will highlight the corruption that has been caused by allowing DVLA to sell data."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0

Yes, had seen it in Grauniad:

and mentioned it elsewhere.
This is worse than the medical data harvest in that, so far, I see no opt-out option available, nor any online petition against it.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Well the only way to get this in the public eye is to report and keep it there, this must not be passed. When you look at the way our data is being mishandled now by the dvla and the fact that the dpa means nothing to them, we are looking back and thinking this should not have happened.
In 10 years time we could be looking back and wishing we pressed the government on this, we could have the hmrc selling our data for £2.50 a shot to anyone with a reasonable cause, which anyone as we know. You may think it can never happen, but the first step is selling the data, the next one is removing anonymity from the data. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you.
