does anyone know if any other shops take morrisons vouchers
thanksThe average woman would rather have beauty than brains,
because the average man can see better than he can think.
Many people's view of the world is down to their experience, perception and what they have been conditioned to,this isnt any old MSE reply this is a important and experienced MSE reply :rotfl:0 -
As Morrisons are rebranding i.e. new logo etcetera. Do you think they will adopt a catchy phrase like Tescos "every little helps". Would be nice if they did as I'm fed up with their old one. "What do you want and have you stepped in something". Hope I'm not being to cutting but on my infrequent visits to the Preston Docks store I've found the customer service to rank with the worst I've had anywhere.0

So does anyone know why Morrisons only sell Bernard Matthews expensive sandwiches in their petrol stations?Filiss0

You get points at Morrisons petrol which you get a fiver it does take time like a year or 18 months as we would only fill up a tenner a fortnight, we normally use Sainsburys now as they are closer, OH works for them too and also nectar points
you get the equivalent of 1.5p off per litre with the morrisons scheme. so i always make sure i keep going to the next litre!0 -
We shop at Morrisons first thing on a Saturday morning. They don't open till 8am which I find slightly frustrating but the most irritating thing is that they don't open enough tills. Until 8.30 they will only have 2 of the nearly 30 tills with staff on. There will be huge queues at the tills while the managers are wandering around the shop having a changeover meeting. Probably once a month I find the managers in the store and ask them to put more staff on the tills and they do to be fair to them, but I don't think it should be up to customers to point out their lack of staffing.
Having said that I stay shopping at Morrisons as I find the quality of food (particularly fresh stuff) far better than the other supermarkets and the prices are generally good.MFIT No. 810 -

That's because they don't recruit staff! They have been driving costs down by cutting back on all overtime and recruitment. So stores are running on a bare minimum of staff. Hence, at the store I work at, they have to shout for relief staff for checkouts nearly every day - even the quieter days!
They've just recruited NINE staff. Nice staff in a year is a disgrace.0 -

I agree with you there. I have a Tesco, Morrisons & Asda all within equal distance from me and have found the quality of Morrison's fresh produce far superior to that of Tesco and Asda.
chipbeck, can I ask is your Morrisons an old Safeway? The reason I ask is that we have another Morrisons nearby that's an ex-Safeway and that's exactly what their customer service is like lol.

Could anyone who can answer this tell me why Morrisons olny sell very expensive Bernard Matthew sandwiches in their petrol stations?
Once upon a time, before Morrisons contracted BM to make sandwiches, the following happened: Fresh Prep would get in at 6am and have to make sandwiches for the customer cafe, shop floor and petrol station. Even though the shop opened at 8.30am and the petrol station opened at 7am, they would always prioritise the shop floor and cafe, otherwise they would get bollocked when the day managers walked in at 7.30am because of the empty shelves. (Don't suggest they have people starting at 5am because they'd have to be paid for unsociable hours ) Also if not enough are made the shelves go empty.
If the bread lorry doesn't come in on time, the shelves go empty. If people are off sick, the shelves go empty. If too many are made, they have to be reduced by end of day and sold in the staff canteen. Heaven's forbid! Many a war was fought between the store and PFS over the production of sandwiches.
By bringing in Bernard Matthews, all these problems were solved. The sandwiches are brought on sale or return, so whatever wasn't sold went back to BM to be resold to farm foods for a £1. The sandwiches are vacuum packed so have a couple of days before the best before date. The shelves are jam packed full of fresh BM snacks so when the delivery man comes back the next day at 10am there are still sandwiches left on the shelf for the morning commuters.
So Mr Morrison didn't have to pay for extra staff or for any waste, the commuter get a good choice of food (freshly made the previous day) as soon as the petrol station opens, Katgoddess's shares in the company triples, and the budget shopper still gets to buy the bread and ham to make his own cheap sandwich.
Everyone lived happily ever after. The end.0 -

.
No, it has always been Morrisons. And I don't suffer the way Chipbeck seems to - the CS staff have always been very nice and helpful to me. Isn't it funny how two people can see the same thing in completely opposite ways?
And it's not as if I'm a particularly soft, gentle and nice person, to save somebody saying "it's how you treat them". I'm sure Chipbeck treats the Morrisons staff fine. As for me, some of my best nuclear explosions have been with Tesco CS and managers. But then, Tesco staff are a completely different breed from the rest of the human race.0 -
Well heres one boy who won't buy Bernard Matthews sandwiches!
However, thanks very much for the explanation, very succinct, and best of luck with your shares!Filiss0
