I think they will start soon as they are losing the business...........

Friend of mine (ex-Sainsburys) got a management job at one of their stores and quit within 2 weeks. In that 2 weeks she hadn't been introduced to the other managers - yes not one management meeting in 2 weeks.

Basically they couldn't pee a hole in snow! So how they would get a home delivery service up and running is anyones guess.

OK. I work for morrisons. They are indeed a very traditional company, and also a tight one!! Cannot see them investing money into 24 hour business - they barely have enough staff to run 12 hours! Also, they have just spent millions on a (crap) new logo so entering the 24 hour business will not be on the agenda for a while.

BUT. In their defence - Morrisons have just won the best product availability award and customer service award - beating the likes of Sainsburys, ASDA, tesco, etc.. So the managers have gotta be doing something right!!

As for the "my friend worked for..." stories - I've heard as many horror stories from people who have left morrisons to work for tesco, sainsburys, etc.. Working in retail is generally rubbish.

As for losing business... I don't think morrisons have any worries there :) They are doing pretty well.

One of our Morrison's stay open until 22:00, the other 21:00 which is pretty late, though the Asda is 24 hour which we prefer as is Tesco and Sainsbury's is open through the night on a couple of nights.

  • Can somebody please explain something to me..Where I live there is a Tesco selling petrol and a Morrison's..The petrol price per litre is exactly the same always!

I always buy my petrol at Tesco and have a day out with the family at the likes of Alton Towers with the family using the club card points deals on the back of this once a year..

I do buy selected foods from both Tesco & Morrisons

Why does anyone buy Morrisons petrol in my town?????

Maybe they aren't interest in Clubcard points.

You get points at Morrisons petrol which you get a fiver it does take time like a year or 18 months as we would only fill up a tenner a fortnight, we normally use Sainsburys now as they are closer, OH works for them too and also nectar points

I see, I never bother much with Nectar points, seems one of the poorer loyalty schemes, not to say I don't collect them when I'm with a retailer they uses them, but I don't go out of my way to use them.
