Stupid Question

Is it possible to change the date you make a payment to the CC? I am looking to change it to the first/ monthly as that is the day I get paid (instead of 28th when I am skint!) :o

I think some CCs can allow you changing the statement date, not the payment date (that is linked to the statement date). Phone and ask. And leave a few days gap between the CC payment day and the salary.

Those that won't change the statement date are in the minority in my experience.

And those that charge a fee (usually for a second change) are in an even smaller minority.
  • I'm curious why you have titled this thread Stupid Question. It seems quite sensible to me, especially given some of the other questions posted here.

I tend to keep my credit card bill money in a separate account until it is time to make the payment to them (I'm in an interest free period so it makes sense to me to put it into a savings account for a couple of weeks)
Debts at the start of my journey - about £23,000 lightbulb moment 01.03.2007 (1st payment to CCCS)..Debt Free Date 25.06.2013 Deposit savings £17,000/£30,000
