Does Kent Reliance "online" a/c really require snailmail?

I opened a KR "online" savings a/c and it's taken ages to get online access. Now that I've achieved this, I realize I can't make a withdrawal. Do I really have to buy a stamp and send a piece of paper to Kent? OMG. Has anyone managed to make withdrawals from KR via phone or some other form of 20th/21st century technology?

The KRBS website is great isn't it? I especially like the bit that says:

"Some text goes here if we want to add additional info"

next to your balance figure. Looks like the student they engaged to design it didn't return to task after the pub opened.

My deposit with them is fixed term, so I can't help with your query, I'm afraid. Be interested to know the answer, though.

The answer is, according to their T&C, is to make a withdrawal you have to write to head office and request one.
The idea being the account rate at the time may have been the best around but it`s hardly "easy/instant" access.

Yep, post a letter to send bacs to your bank. It's the price you paid to get the market leading rate (at that time). Others, eg the Coventry had only 4 withdrawals a year to get the same interest, and closure counted as one withdrawal!

If found out very quickly that KRBS where not user friendly when I opened savings accounts for my kids and ISA's for the wife and I, these are long closed / transferred now... But paid the best rates at the time of opening.
