Hi,
We are going to have a week in Rhodes in June, and would love to hire a car to see the island.
Does anyone have any recommendations of the best place to hire one??
Is there anything on the island that is a must see??
Thanks
J

I'm always happy with https://www.carhire3000.com who scan main operators' spare capacity and usually beat their prices. Reliable (for us) on over 20 holidays- including Kephalonia in Greece (admittedly not Rhodos ) - but also Spain and Italy. They've never let us down, and a big advantage is that their initial search results specify fuelling policy. We like 'full/full' - not the rip-off 'full/empty' which means you pay inflated prices for a full tank, irrespective of how much you use. Rhodes is showing £120 pw in June, and we always book the smallest, cheapest car and then always get given something better (an Alfa in Malaga last month- a Seat Ibiza last week in Girona). And buy excess protection insurance before you go from someone like https://www.insurance4carhire.com so the rental staff (who are on commission for the extras they peddle) don't sell you their overpriced daily version.0

We have had excellent service from economycarhire.com in Portugal and Menorca.0

It is quite easy to drive all around Rhodes in a day as it's not huge, about 95km from top to bottom.
Prasonisi right at the base of the island is a great place to visit. It's where the Mediterranean and the Aegean Seas meet so you can literally stand with one foot in each. One side is choppy and the other calm.
Monolithos village and the castle on the west side of the island will give you a taste of real Greece and the views from the castle are stunning.
Take a drive up into the mountains. If you follow the signs for Eleousa from Kolymbia and then onwards to Profitis Ilias you can then pass right over and come out on the west side. Some lovely little chapels on the way but only go this way if you have a head for heights as there are some small high roads!
And then you have the usuals, Rhodes Old Town and Lindos village. Both worth a visit both in the day and night. Lindos especially at night is beautiful and you can sit on the rooftop of a restaurant and have a meal with the acropolis in sight.:beer:0 -
Thanks all!
