Confused with roof repairs

I've got water going down the chimney breast.
1 guy says we need new flashing on the chimney
another says nothing wrong with flashing, the chimney needs repointing (plants growing on it) then a coat of waterproofing thingy need to be applied

Quote one: £200
Clean up area, take flashing band off and "re-flash"
Sort out gutter at the front and at the back

Quote two:£260
Patch point and waterproof chimney
Sort out gutter at front and back
Point ridge tiles (as apparently we need that done. It does't look as good as good as next door's, so I guess it could well be needed)

I wish they'd all agree on what needs to be done!

I've rang 3/4 of the roofers in the yellow pages those are the 2 that bothered turning up.
I guess it's not a job they want to do.

Now, I would really appreciate your opinions on this.

Do you think quote 2 is fair for the job?

What would you do in my position? Go ahead with quote 2 as I prefered them to quote 1 outfit?
Carry on ringing round roofers or start ringing general builders to get more quotes?

I'm so confused...

why not get it pointed and then tell the roofer to check and refit the leadwork whilst he is up there?
