Private parking ticket

Options
I have a private parking ticket issued for transfer of a ticket between vehicles. They are BPA registered.

I appealed and got an instant response saying they have evidence that I used a previously used ticket which they will use in a small claims court.

I either pay now with 40% discount or I have to pay the full amount. Not sure what to do.

I think it's disgusting that appealing to POPLA loses you your right to the reduced fee!

Please help

I just wonder if it is worth fighting given that if I pay now I only pay £40 but if POPLA rejects my claim then I pay £90. The way I see it I save £50 by just paying and not appealing. It's so frustrating though. This just seems so unfair. You should be allowed to appeal and not pay the full whack. It blatantly puts everyone off appealing which is why these companies get away with this. Grrrrrr.

Why do you want to pay a discount on a scam charge, that is the trap as you have deduced.
Follow the advice from regulars on here and you have a 100% chance of winning at POPLA and costing the scummy scammers money into the bargain.

You need to read the Newbies thread here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822

It contains instructions on how to win at POPLA.

I'm not sure what grounds I could appeal on though as it relates to transfer of ticket. I could argue car was not improperly parked, ticket was displayed etc. and that is the only appeal I suppose I could put to POPLA. I'm trawling the forum to see if I can find other cases of people with the same situation but none found thus far.

that is because the situation doesnt matter

you appeal on not a gpeol , no contract , bad signage etc

all dealt with in the newbies thread

basically , the punishment does not fit the "crime"

You appeal on the same grounds everybody does, poor signage and not GPEOL.

They haven't lost £90 have they.

Thank you, I will do so. Reading through the threads and advice now. I do feel I have stitched myself up by appealing already as I have obviously given them my details! But will look at POPLA stuff. Thanks so much.
