Statement Date and DD Payment Date?

If you have a statement date of say 20th each month then 25 days to make a payment there after and a DD is set up to make a payment....on what date will the payment be taken from your bank?....and if its set up to pay the minimum but you want to pay more in one month should you wait for the DD to collect to ensure you get a good payment marker?

Each statement tells you the exact date.

I don't see how waiting is better, but beware that for some cards extra payments can affect the DD amount, i.e. if the DD amount was, say, £10 and you pay £50 well before the DD date, it can be changed to £0.

Worth bearing in mind that different CC providers will handle this differently, see this thread for example about how far in advance NatWest collect DDs: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4936506
