Feedback and thanks

Options
I buy a lot of stuff on-line.

I akso buy a lot of stuff in shops.

Do I go back to the shop later and tell them thanks very much you did a good job and your service was great and I really appreciate that you sold me the stuff and here are 5 stars for your service?

No!

So why do people want me to do it when I buy stuff on-line?

After 6 messages asking why I did not leave positive feedback 5 minutes after the postie delivered my stuff here's the feedback they will get.

Received parcel but !!!!ed off with the messages asking for positive feed back.

When you buy stuff in a shop, the seller can be pretty sure you have received the goods.

Quite a few stores do now do tell you, when they give you your receipt, that if you go to their website and leave feedback that you will be entered into a draw. Did my food shopping this morning and got told about it in both Waitrose and M&S.

So be prepared to get just as irate in 'physical' shops.

I like to send feedback so as other users can see what is what .
Just spent four hours looking for an item and 99% of that was reading other users opinion of the item the store and its service.
Email asking for feedback must admit i am yet to receive one before the goods and it would not be something that would be bothered about anyway .

If you don't want to leave feedback then don't. No-one has to. I only leave feedback personally if something has been particularly impressive or seriously wrong. However, with the plethora of ways and outlets to shop online I do find others' feedback helpful. If I want to order a book I'd rather buy my copy of that book from someone with feedback ratings that suggest an honest, reliable supplier than some berk who can't wrap a parcel properly so that it doesn't get damaged in transit.

There are bigger problems in the world than someone being asked to complete a little feedback request.

This board is full of negative feedback regarding many different "bricks and mortar" shops. Also some positive feedback.

Buying online you don't get to see the actual items until they are delivered, so (especially with secondhand items on eBay), you want some assurance that the seller has a good reputation.

Because I didn't switch my computer on until 6 minutes after the postie delivered my stuff because I was unwrapping my stuff.

Then I had to check my email and there they were, 6 emails asking why I hadn't left positive feedback.

When I had my shop I often had customers calling in to say how pleased they were with the products, slightly different as it was a florists and they don't take items like wreaths and gift bouquets with them, but was still happy that they took the time to come in afterwards xx
