click 2 run configuration failure

When I start my PC there is a 'boing' sound like a spring/coil then I have to click ok on a box to get rid of it. If I want to open any word documents I then get the above message and if I try to access the docs through the documents tab then it says that the shortcut has gone. I have searched the internet for solutions, one of which was to uninstall/install windows 2010 starter but this does not appear in my programmes to uninstall it. I have tried restoring the PC from an earlier time but this is failing too, I have tried 5 times. I have also had this:
There was a problem starting C:\use\kay\appdata\local\conduit\backgroundcontainer\backgroundcontainer.dll
The specified module could not be found.
I've also tried downloading windows fix but this could not detect anything.
Can anyone help access my word docs again. Thanks

  • Thanks for the reply.

Tried the autoruns and did a scan, although my PC didn't make the 'boing' sound when starting up i still cannot access any word documents. I get a box now saying 'this programme is unavailable to run because of missing or corrupted files'. 'Contact computer manufacturer'. I also had to download Moxilla to access the internet as my IE won't start either. Not sure if I need to get my PC looked at.

Probably time to backup your data (photos, documents, etc.), if you haven't already, and do a Windows reinstall. (e.g. restore to factory settings).

Try a System Restore to before the problem began.
